Abstract

To prevent a display by a HUD device from disturbing visual recognition of an actual scene, when returning to a front visual field after a viewer's visual line has deviated from the front visual field, or when re-detecting a viewpoint position after lost-viewpoint has occurred.SOLUTION: When a front non-visible state has temporarily occurred or lost-viewpoint has occurred, a control unit 108 executes first control which includes setting virtual images to a non-display state or reducing their visibility, concerning at least a part of display contents, or reducing the visibility and finally setting the virtual images to a non-display state, or reducing a number of display contents. Further, the control unit executes second control which includes gradually increasing the visibility or the number of display contents, after returning to a front visible state or a viewpoint detected state, or gradually or smoothly increasing the visibility or the number of display contents with time after providing a maintenance period in a state of non-display or reduced visibility.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
