Abstract

To provide an image forming apparatus that, when a force in a direction to open an opening and closing cover is applied, can prevent deflection of the opening and closing cover while preventing the opening and closing cover from entering a partially closed state.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has: (A) an apparatus body; (B) an opening and closing member that has a first part to be regulated including a first surface to be regulated, a second part to be regulated including a second surface to be regulated, and a third part to be regulated including a third surface to be regulated, and is rotatable in an opening direction and a closing direction; and (C) a lock member that regulates movement of the opening and closing member in the opening direction, the lock member including a first regulation part, a second regulation part, and a third regulation part. In a lock state in which the movement of the opening and closing member in the opening direction is regulated, in terms of the opening direction, the first regulation part is located on the downstream side of the first surface to be regulated; the second regulation part is located on the downstream side of the second surface to be regulated; the third regulation part is located on the downstream side of the third surface to be regulated; and the third regulation part faces the third surface to be regulated with a gap therebetween.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
