Abstract

To properly supply a lubricant.SOLUTION: A machine tool includes: a headstock that rotates a workpiece; a tool that processes the workpiece; a feeder that moves the tool in a direction crossing a rotation axis of the workpiece; a rest device having a shoe that comes into contact with the workpiece at a position where the workpiece is sandwiched between the shoe and the tool; a lubricant supply device that supplies a predetermined amount of lubricant to the shoe; and a switch that turns on / off the supply of the lubricant from the lubricant supply device. The shoe has: a contact surface that comes into contact with the workpiece; a lubricating groove formed in the contact surface; a through-hole that supplies the lubricant to the lubricating groove from the lubricant supply device; and a discharge path formed on the contact surface and extending from the lubricating groove to an upper end of the contact surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
