Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a novel benzotriazole-based polymer, and further to an ultraviolet absorber using the benzotriazole-based polymer, and a polycarbonate resin composition containing the benzotriazole-based polymer. [Background technology]

[0002] Polycarbonate resin is a material with excellent transparency, impact resistance, heat resistance, and flame retardancy, and is used in various fields such as automobile parts, building materials, electronic devices, medical instruments, eyeglass lenses, and films. Polycarbonate resin is deteriorated by the action of ultraviolet rays from natural light, resulting in a decrease in performance and discoloration. In order to prevent such deterioration due to ultraviolet rays, various ultraviolet absorbents have been added and used during the processing of the resin. As the ultraviolet absorbents used for polycarbonate resin, for example, various organic compounds such as benzophenone, benzotriazole, and triazine are known.

[0003] However, the ultraviolet absorbents commonly used in polycarbonate resins volatilize and decompose themselves at high temperatures during resin processing, resulting in problems such as contamination of resin molding dies due to volatilization of the ultraviolet absorbent during resin processing and discoloration of the resin due to thermal decomposition of the ultraviolet absorbent.

[0004] In order to solve these problems during processing of polycarbonate resin, Patent Documents 1 and 2 propose ultraviolet absorbers in which two benzotriazole compounds are linked with a methylene group to dimerize them, thereby increasing the molecular weight and improving heat resistance. However, due to the effect of dimerization, the absorption spectrum of these ultraviolet absorbers becomes longer in wavelength and absorbs visible light, so when these are added to polycarbonate resin, the polycarbonate resin takes on a yellowish tinge, limiting the uses.

[0005] In addition, Patent Document 3 proposes an ultraviolet absorber having improved heat resistance by increasing the molecular weight through the addition of a bulky substituent to a benzotriazole compound. However, when the present inventors evaluated the heat resistance of the ultraviolet absorber described in Patent Document 3, they found that although it was improved compared to general ultraviolet absorbers, it could not be said that it exhibited sufficient heat resistance, and there were problems such as contamination of a resin molding die and coloring of the resin due to thermal decomposition.

[0006] Patent Documents 4 and 5 propose a polymeric ultraviolet absorber obtained by copolymerizing a benzotriazole derivative containing a (meth)acryloyl group with a (meth)acrylic acid ester, and propose that by incorporating an ultraviolet absorbing structure as a component of the polymer, it is possible to prevent the volatilization and decomposition of the ultraviolet absorbing component at high temperatures during processing, and the bleed-out of the ultraviolet absorbing component after processing.

[0007] The polymeric ultraviolet absorbents described in these documents are used in contact lenses, films, coatings, etc. However, the polymeric ultraviolet absorbents in all of these documents are molded or formed into films by themselves, so their compatibility with other resins is considered to be insufficient. For this reason, it is difficult to use these polymeric ultraviolet absorbents by adding them to polycarbonate resin. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0009] Under these circumstances, an object of the present invention is to synthesize a novel benzotriazole-based polymer and to provide a polycarbonate resin composition using the same, which contains an ultraviolet absorber that has heat resistance and excellent compatibility with polycarbonate resins. [Means for solving the problem]

[0010] The most important feature of the polycarbonate resin composition of the present invention is that a benzotriazole-based polymer containing, as a constituent unit, one or more chemical structures in which a benzotriazole derivative structure represented by the following general formula (1) and a bisphenol derivative structure represented by the following general formula (2) are linked via a carbonyl group is blended with a polycarbonate resin.

[0013] The benzotriazole-based polymer constituting the polycarbonate resin composition of the present invention is less susceptible to volatilization and decomposition even at high temperatures and has high compatibility with polycarbonate resins, so that bleeding out is less likely to occur. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0066] [Table 1]

[0067] [Preparation of polycarbonate resin composition] The polymers (a) and (b) obtained in Example 1 and Reference Example, and the compounds (b) and (c) of Comparative Example were mixed with various polycarbonate resin materials and dichloromethane in the ratios shown in Table 2 to obtain a solution of a polycarbonate resin composition containing an ultraviolet absorber. 20 ml of the obtained solution of the polycarbonate resin composition containing an ultraviolet absorber was transferred to a petri dish with a diameter of 12 cm, and the solvent was removed by drying at 25°C under normal pressure for 48 hours to obtain a polycarbonate resin composition having a film thickness of 0.05 mm and containing 1 wt% of an ultraviolet absorbing component. As the polycarbonate resin material, a polymer using a general polycarbonate (a): TARFLON IR2200 manufactured by FORMOSA IDEMITSU PETROCHEMICAL CORPORATION, and a special polycarbonate (a): 2,2-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methylphenyl)propane was used.

[0068] [Table 2]

[0069] [Gloss measurement] The gloss of the surface of the polycarbonate resin composition containing 1 wt% of the ultraviolet absorbing component obtained above is shown in Table 3. If the compatibility between the polycarbonate resin material and the ultraviolet absorber is insufficient, the ultraviolet absorber will bleed out onto the surface of the polycarbonate resin composition, causing the surface of the polycarbonate resin composition to become rough and the gloss to decrease. Therefore, the gloss is an index of the compatibility between the polycarbonate resin material and the ultraviolet absorber.

[0070] [Table 3]

[0071] From Table 1, it can be seen that the benzotriazole-based polymers (a) and (b) have a high 5% weight loss temperature and high heat resistance that is less likely to volatilize or decompose at high temperatures compared to the compounds (b) and (c) that are conventional ultraviolet absorbers used in polycarbonate. Also, from Table 3, it can be seen that the polycarbonate resin composition containing the polymers (a) and (b) has excellent gloss compared to the polycarbonate resin composition containing the compounds (b) and (c) that are conventional ultraviolet absorbers used in polycarbonate, and therefore has high compatibility with polycarbonate resin materials and is less likely to bleed out, making it a useful polycarbonate resin composition. The measurement conditions for heat resistance and gloss are as follows.

[0072] <Heat resistance measurement conditions> Equipment: TG / DTA STA7200RV (Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation) Measurement temperature: 50~500℃ Heating rate: 10℃ / min Measurement atmosphere: Nitrogen

[0073] <Glossiness measurement conditions> Equipment: UNI GLOSS60 (Konica Minolta Sensing, Inc.) Measurement angle: 60° [Industrial Applicability]

[0074] The benzotriazole-based polymer constituting the polycarbonate resin composition of the present invention has high heat resistance, and therefore does not volatilize or decompose in the processing step of the polymer containing an ultraviolet absorbing component. Furthermore, since the compatibility between the polycarbonate resin material and the polymer is high, bleeding out is unlikely to occur, and therefore the benzotriazole-based polymer can be suitably used as an ultraviolet absorber for polycarbonate resin.
