Compositions and methods for treating anemia

Abstract

To provide a pharmaceutical composition for treating anaemia such as anaemia secondary to or associated with chronic kidney disease or non-dialysis dependent chronic kidney disease.SOLUTION: A tablet pharmaceutical preparation includes an intragranular component, an extragranular component, and a film coating component, where the intragranular component includes approximately 55 wt.% to approximately 75 wt.% of {[5-(3-chlorophenyl)-3-hydroxypyridine-2-carbonyl]amino}acetic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, approximately 15 wt.% to approximately 35 wt.% of insoluble diluent or carrier, approximately 2.0 wt.% to approximately 4.0 wt.% of disintegrator, and approximately 1.8 wt.% to approximately 3.8 wt.% of diluent or filler, and furthermore, the extragranular component includes approximately 2.0 wt.% to approximately 4.0 wt.% of disintegrator, approximately 0.15 wt.% to approximately 0.35 wt.% of flow accelerator, and approximately 0.35 wt.% to approximately 1.15 wt.% of lubricant.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
