Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to an adhesive composition. [Background technology]

[0002] There is a demand for improved light extraction efficiency in phosphor dispersion plates (pyrex with phosphor dispersed) for LEDs used in automobiles, etc. One method for achieving this is to apply a coating agent with a low refractive index to the phosphor dispersion plate of the LED, which has a large difference in refractive index from air, in order to prevent a decrease in the extraction efficiency and to improve it.Specifically, the sapphire glass (refractive index 1.8) of the LED chip base material and the phosphor dispersion plate (refractive index 1.78) are currently bonded with a silicone adhesive (refractive index 1.4 to 1.5). Therefore, we investigated the possibility of reducing light loss by increasing the refractive index of the adhesive. Also, phosphor dispersion plates for LEDs used in automobiles and other applications are required to have a high level of heat resistance. Not only must they withstand high temperatures (e.g. 150°C) and long periods of time (e.g. 1000 hours), but they must also be able to withstand cycle tests that alternate between high and low temperatures. Compositions containing epoxy compounds and silane coupling agents have been studied as adhesives for bonding glass pieces together (see documents 1 to 4 below). In recent years, laminates made of multiple pieces of glass have been required to have a high refractive index, and adhesives for glass containing high refractive index materials such as zirconium oxide have been studied. In general, compositions comprising zirconium oxide and an epoxy compound are not practical because the reaction between the two tends to cause the composition to gel (become highly viscous). In addition, a composition consisting of zirconium oxide and a silane coupling agent is not practical because, after being formed into a coating film, the condensation reaction of the silane coupling agent tends to cause air bubbles to form and the transparency of the adhesive layer to decrease. Furthermore, when a polysiloxane-based substance such as a general silicone or cyclic siloxane is used in place of the silane coupling agent, the zirconium oxide does not disperse stably in the polysiloxane, and the transparency of the coating film is also insufficient. In order to prevent the generation of bubbles, the composition must be solvent-free. However, no adhesive that satisfies all of the above requirements has been developed to date. The epoxy group-containing silane coupling agent may contain only one epoxy group or may contain multiple epoxy groups, and may contain only one alkoxysilyl group or may contain multiple alkoxysilyl groups.

[0019] When the epoxy group-containing silane coupling agent contains only one alkoxysilyl group, the silane coupling agent is SiR 1 a R 2 b (OR 3 ) c (OH) 4-a-b-c Here, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 are all directly bonded to silicon atoms. 1 is an epoxy group-containing group, R 2 and R 3 are each independently an alkyl group, a is an integer of 1 to 3, b is an integer of 0 to 2, and c is an integer of 1 to 3. When any of a, b, and c is 2 or more, multiple R 1 may be different from each other, and multiple R 2 may be different from each other, and multiple (OR 3 ) may be different from each other.

[0020] R 1 The epoxy group-containing group in is not particularly limited as long as it contains an epoxy group, and examples thereof include a glycidoxy group-containing group and a cycloalkene oxide (alicyclic epoxy group)-containing group. Note that the organic chain of the polymer-type silane coupling agent does not include polysiloxane. Since the polymer-type silane coupling agent can thus have a plurality of alkoxysilyl groups and epoxy groups in one molecule, many reaction points with the resin or the support are formed, and the adhesion of the resin layer to the support can be increased.

[0023] Furthermore, the content of D. at least one selected from alicyclic epoxy compounds and epoxy group-containing silane coupling agents in the solid content of the adhesive is preferably 10.0 to 30.0 mass %, more preferably 15.0 to 25.0 mass %. [0025] (Method of using the adhesive of the present invention) The adhesive of the present invention is used to bond two members selected from optically transparent materials such as high refractive index transparent glass, transparent resin sheets, etc. In this case, the highly refractive metal oxide particles contained in the layer made of the adhesive of the present invention increase the refractive index of the adhesive layer itself. This allows light emitted from a light source such as an LED to be efficiently dispersed by the sheet member made up of the above two members and the adhesive layer. EXAMPLES

[0032] (Refractive Index) A film with a thickness of approximately 1 μm was formed on a transparent glass substrate using a spin coater, and after heating at 150°C for 4 hours, the reflectance was measured in the range of 400 to 800 nm using an Otsuka Electronics FE-3000. The nkCauchy dispersion equation was quoted as an approximation equation for the wavelength dispersion of the refractive index, and the unknown parameters were found from the actual measured values of the absolute reflectance spectrum using the nonlinear least squares method to calculate the refractive index at a wavelength of 550 nm.

[0034] According to Examples 1 to 6 and Example 7, which are examples according to the present invention, suitable effects were obtained with respect to zirconia miscibility, the presence or absence of bubbles, viscosity, adhesion, heat resistance (color change) (cracks), and refractive index. However, when the acid anhydride of Example 6 is used, and when the alicyclic epoxy compound of Example 8 is used, the heat resistance (color change) decreases, but they can be used in applications that are not exposed to high temperatures and do not require heat resistance. In contrast, Comparative Examples 1 and 2, which did not contain a cyclic siloxane compound having two or more epoxy groups in the molecule but contained silicone or siloxane, showed poor miscibility with zirconia or generated bubbles. Also, Comparative Example 3, which simply did not contain a cyclic siloxane compound having two or more epoxy groups in the molecule, showed insufficient adhesion.
