Abstract
A method for obtaining observation images of powders having two or more protrusions on the surface of each particle that are wide enough to perform a statistical evaluation, and for calculating the percentage of the particle that is covered by the protrusions. A method for determining the coverage of convex portions on the particle surfaces of the above powder, comprising the steps of: (1) A process for acquiring a microscopic image of a powder having a brightness distribution and resolution, the process for acquiring the microscopic image such that the brightness distribution satisfies a specific range. (2) A process of creating a pseudo-binarization model that converts the brightness distribution of the microscopic image obtained in (1) into a distribution with peaks at brightness values of 0 and 255. (3) A process of performing binarization detection on the pseudo-binarized model created in (2). (4) A process of performing image processing to remove unnecessary noise from the binary-detected image in (3). (5) A step of calculating a coverage ratio, which indicates the ratio of the particles covered by the convex portions, from the image processed in (4).
