Abstract

A brush head (100) and a method for making a brush head having a plurality of tuft spikes (20) and a plurality of tuft spikes are disclosed. The brush head includes a matrix (30) having a plurality of receptacles (32) formed therein. The plurality of tuft spikes are each formed from a plurality of bristle strands (22) disposed within a tuft (21), the bristle strands having a free end (25) and a proximal end (23) inserted into a spike body (24). Each tuft spike is located in one of the receptacles in the matrix. A brush head neck (40) has a distal platen (42) connected to and at least partially surrounded by the matrix.
