To provide a washing machine that automatically carries out a non-heating drying operation for a washing tub regardless of user operation and a washing tub drying method of the washing machine.SOLUTION: A washing machine 1 consists of an air blowing section 2 that blows air into a washing tub 3 consisting of an outer tub 9 and an inner tub 10 provided inside thereof, and a control section 4 that actuates at least the air blowing section when determining that object to be washed (laundry) 21 is taken out of the washing tub based on a prescribed determination condition 23 including termination of washing operation. The control section automatically carries out a non-heating drying operation for the washing tub. Obtaining a termination information 1a relating to the termination of the washing operation, an open information 14a relating to open state of a cover 11 of the washing tub, and a close information 14a relating to closed state of the cover, respectively, is the determination condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
