Abstract

A server device is provided that enables a user to make settings for dealing with an error obtained in a POST process without having to intervene. [Solution] A diagram showing an example of a server configuration. The server includes a transmission unit, a change unit, and a restart unit as functions of a basic input / output system before the operating system is started. The transmission unit transmits a POST log, which is a log of a self-diagnosis executed by the basic input / output system at the time of startup, to a management server device. When the change unit acquires setting information that has been changed according to an analysis result of the POST log from the management server device, it changes internal setting information based on the acquired setting information. The restart unit causes the device to be restarted.
