Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a method for error detection in drive dynamic control. [Background technology]

[0002] Modern vehicle braking systems, apart from stabilisation functions, for example in the form of classic ESP / ABS functions, increasingly include extended functions such as driver assistance, power injection to the brake pedal during braking via an electromechanical brake booster (eBKV), or even assist or semi-assist functions via units for actively modulating the brake fluid pressure without active driver involvement (e.g. ESP, eBKV, boost units, etc.). Driver assist systems are becoming more and more common in today's vehicles in various forms. They intervene semi-automatically or automatically in the driving, control, e.g. steering, or signalling of the vehicle or warn the driver by means of a suitable human-machine interface just before or during a dangerous situation. Typically, a braking system comprises an electronic brake booster (eBKV) and an ESP system. In this combination, many of the braking system functions can be realized by the ESP system, and the brake booster is used as an external actuator to boost the dynamic pressure. Alternatively, in a one-box braking system, the brake booster and ESP functions may be combined in one device to control the corresponding hydraulic system. Summary of the Invention

[0003] Each braking system for such vehicles shall be designed to provide a braking force of 2.44 m / s2 with a pedal force of 500 Newtons in a simple error, in accordance with the laws in force for the registration and operation of the vehicle. 2 This goal, along with any further, more stringent guidelines from the potential customer, may determine the hydraulic design of the brake system. The master cylinder of such a brake system is therefore designed to provide a correspondingly reasonable hydraulic pressure modulation without additional pressure amplification at the wheel brakes, given the appropriate input power, but at the same time, due to different volumetric capacities, this design prevents all types of vehicles or all possible brake calipers from being operated with one brake system design without significantly lengthening the master cylinder and / or pedal stroke.

[0004] According to an aspect of the invention, a method for detecting an error in a drive dynamic control in a system consisting of a power brake and a drive dynamic control, a system for detecting an error in a drive dynamic control and a method for using the system are proposed according to the features of the independent claims. Advantageous features are the subject of the dependent claims and the following description.

[0005] Throughout this description of the invention, a sequence of method steps is presented to facilitate understanding of the method. However, those skilled in the art will recognize that many of the method steps can be completed in other orders to lead to the same or corresponding results. In this sense, the order of the method steps may be changed as appropriate. Some elements are provided with numerical values to improve readability or to make the relationship more unambiguous, but this does not imply the presence of a particular element.

[0006] According to one aspect of the present invention, a method is proposed for detecting an error in a drive dynamic control in a system comprising a power brake and a drive dynamic control, the system being arranged to hydraulically couple the power brake to the drive dynamic control, the method including the steps of: In one step, generating a first control signal and providing the first control signal to a drive dynamic control to provide a first hydraulic pressure by the drive dynamic control, and in a further step, generating the first hydraulic pressure by the drive dynamic control, wherein a second hydraulic pressure at the hydraulic connection is controlled by the power brake such that a hydraulic volume in the system is maintained constant, wherein after generation of the first hydraulic pressure is terminated, determining a third hydraulic pressure of the drive dynamic control at the hydraulic connection to detect an error in the drive dynamic control.

[0007] Such a system includes, for example, a decoupled power brake (DPB) as brake force control means, in which the driver intervenes in the simulator to brake in normal operation and the actual brake pressure is generated by means of a plunger. This pre-pressure can be transferred to the Drive Dynamic Control via two brake pipes. In such a brake system, the brake pressure can be boosted by the plunger of the power brake or by a pump of the Drive Dynamic Control, independently of the actuation of the brake pedal. The power brake then serves primarily for the required dynamic boosting of the brake pressure and can be designed to perform a longitudinal dynamic brake assist function. The Drive Dynamic Control can provide stabilization functions and possibly required emergency functions, such as boosting the brake fluid pressure, in the event of an error. The drive dynamics control of the system can therefore increase the required brake pressure in an emergency based on the driver's wishes. Alternatively or additionally, a brake system based on this system can increase the required brake pressure by the drive dynamics control in the event of a power brake failure or in the event of a leak in the system that causes the legally required minimum deceleration to no longer be possible. For such a safety-critical design of such an emergency function, the drive dynamics control must have a very high availability.

[0008] High availability can be ensured by using the above-mentioned method for error detection to detect potential errors in the drive dynamic control, since such errors may prevent correct activation of the emergency functions in the event of a power brake failure, such as, for example, a disengaged brake booster and / or a hydraulic leak in the drive dynamic control.

[0009] The method for detecting an error can be carried out, for example, when starting the prime mover while the electronic parking brake is still closed. However, the test can also be carried out at other times while the vehicle is stationary. The method for detecting an error can also be carried out while driving, in particular if the wheel brake pressures generated during the drive are appropriate for the current driving situation and the current braking needs and / or if the wheel brake pressures generated during the drive are compatible with the particular driving situation.

[0010] The method for error detection can then be controlled by means of the power brake, i.e. in particular by a controller of the power brake. To provide the first control signal, an interface can be used which also provides a signal connection for other functions between the power brake and the drive dynamic control.

[0011] The magnitude of the first hydraulic pressure increased by the drive dynamic control based on the first control signal may be configurable and may be requested by the power brake in the method for error detection. The magnitude of the first hydraulic pressure may correspond to a brake pressure corresponding to a legally defined emergency function. The drive dynamic control can use the pump to boost the required pressure based on the demand of the first control signal, and therefore use hydraulic volume provided by the power brake for that purpose, i.e. hydraulic volume can be sucked from the power brake by the drive dynamic control. Since the system consisting of the power brake and the drive dynamic control is closed, for example as a brake system, an interface may be provided that allows the drive dynamic control to transfer the intake of a hydraulic volume, for example brake fluid, to the power brake, whereby the power brake may be provided to prevent unwanted additional hydraulic volume from reaching the system, for example into the brake circuit of the system. For this purpose, the power brakes may have a plunger, which may be controlled with a so-called suction aid in order to prevent a vacuum from arising in the system or in particular in the power brakes, since if the vacuum were high enough, a hydraulic volume could be sucked into the power brakes from a reservoir tank through a safety valve, for example a BSV valve. This possibility of sucking in a hydraulic volume, for example brake fluid, from a reservoir tank is considered for special situations and should be avoided in normal operation to ensure a flawless functioning of the system.

[0012] If the first hydraulic pressure in the drive dynamics control has been successfully boosted, then the desired hydraulic pressure is applied, for example to the brake cylinders of the respective wheels or in the respective high-pressure hydraulic circuit of the drive dynamics control. The second hydraulic pressure is then controlled or regulated in the hydraulic connection of the power brake, for example by means of a plunger, so that the hydraulic volume in the system remains constant. In other words, the hydraulic volume required for boosting the pressure in the drive dynamics is provided by the hydraulic volume from the plunger, whose piston moves correspondingly for this purpose. In other words, the hydraulic volume required for boosting the pressure in the drive dynamics control is provided by the power brake, in particular by the hydraulic volume of the plunger, for example the piston of which moves to the front position.

[0013] In this case, the second hydraulic pressure prevailing in the area between the plunger of the power brake and the connecting valve of the drive dynamic control can be adjusted to a lower magnitude, for example by using a pressure sensor of the power brake arranged in this area to determine the hydraulic pressure.

[0014] The power brakes and / or the drive dynamic control may be provided for coupling to one another such that a coupling valve of the power brakes and a coupling valve of the drive dynamic control are provided for hydraulic coupling to one another, i.e., a hydraulic coupling of a system including a power brake and a drive dynamic control may be provided between the coupling valve of the power brakes and the coupling valve of the drive dynamic control for hydraulic coupling to one another.

[0015] The generation of the first hydraulic pressure may be terminated after a preset time, for example by the power brake sending a suitable termination signal to the drive dynamic control. In a further step, a hydraulic equilibrium may be achieved up to the plunger of the power brake by opening a connecting valve of the drive dynamic control between the power brake and the drive dynamic control. The plunger of the power brake is then controlled so that the previous position of its piston is maintained, thereby achieving a pressure increase in the hydraulic line connected in this way up to the plunger. By means of a plunger pressure sensor, the third hydraulic pressure can be determined in order to detect errors in the drive dynamic control. That is, if the third hydraulic pressure reaches and / or exceeds a certain expected magnitude, a sufficiently high second hydraulic pressure has been boosted in the drive dynamic control, thus proving that the drive dynamic control can function satisfactorily.

[0016] Advantageously, the method for error detection can be implemented, for example, by performing an active functional test at the start of the vehicle, which can deduce at this point that there is a potential error in the hydraulic system of the drive dynamic control and in the associated electronic components, and which functional test can include the method for error detection in order to identify a potential error in the hydraulic system of the drive dynamic control.

[0017] Advantageously, by using the method for error detection, significantly more freedom can be achieved in the hydraulic design of the brake system, and thus more versatility of the brake system versus the entire vehicle can be achieved for OEMs and suppliers, and thus the brake system can be designed in such a way that it can be flexibly used for many vehicle types.

[0018] That is to say, the probability of failure of the brake force assist for a driver driving a vehicle configured in this way is sufficiently reduced that the use of the method for error detection allows the design guidelines for the brake system to be extended, since the availability of emergency functions, such as for example the brake force assist that should be provided by the drive dynamic control in the event of an error, can be guaranteed by the method for error detection.

[0019] Advantageously, with the power brakes being decoupled to the driver, the method for detecting errors can be interrupted at any time without special measures. To provide the first control signal to the drive dynamic control, in an advantageous embodiment, an existing interface for signals between the power brake and the drive dynamic control can be used. The method for error detection can be controlled by the power brake, which does not require splitting into two systems, thus easily achieving compatibility of the drive dynamic control with products from other manufacturers.

[0020] According to one aspect, it is proposed to generate the first control signal by means of the power brake, in particular by means of a controller of the power brake.

[0021] According to one aspect, it is proposed that the power brake is a decoupled power brake (DPB) and / or an electronic stability control system (ESP system).

[0022] According to one aspect, it is proposed to keep the hydraulic volume of the system constant by means of a plunger in the power brake.

[0023] According to one aspect, it is proposed that the plunger does not have a leak hole. The method for error detection advantageously allows the use of a plunger that does not have a leak hole, thereby reducing the design space for the system.

[0024] According to one aspect, it is proposed to mechanically displace the piston position of a power brake plunger from an initial position to keep the hydraulic volume of the system constant.

[0025] According to one aspect, it is proposed to terminate the generation of the first hydraulic pressure after the time interval has expired.

[0026] According to one aspect, it is proposed to hydraulically couple the power brakes and the drive dynamic control to each other by means of a valve which opens after the expiration of a time interval.

[0027] According to one aspect, it is proposed that the valve is a drive dynamic control, in particular a controllable valve. In particular, said valve may be a link valve of a drive dynamic control.

[0028] According to one aspect, it is proposed to determine the first hydraulic pressure and / or the second hydraulic pressure and / or the third hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic connection by means of a power brake pressure sensor, which in particular may be a plunger pressure sensor.

[0029] According to one aspect, it is proposed that the first control signal is provided by a controller of the power brake, which may be a controller specifically for the power brake and / or a controller forming a dedicated unit together with the power brake for controlling the power brake.

[0030] According to one aspect, it is proposed that the first control signal is a binary signal and / or an analog signal.

[0031] According to one aspect, it is proposed that the method is performed before the start of the mobile platform.

[0032] According to one aspect, it is proposed to close the parking brake of the mobile platform before the first step of the method.

[0033] A system for detecting an error in a drive dynamic control in a system comprising a power brake and a drive dynamic control is proposed, where the system includes a power brake and a drive dynamic control, the system being arranged to hydraulically couple the power brake and the drive dynamic control, and in addition, the system includes a controller for the power brake, where the power brake is in signal communication with the drive dynamic control, where the system is arranged to implement one of the methods described above. Advantageously, such a system would allow the method to be integrated into different mobile platforms.

[0034] It is proposed to use the above-described system for braking at least one wheel of a mobile platform.

[0035] A mobile platform is an at least partially automated system that is mobile and / or a driver assist system of a vehicle. An example may be an at least partially automated vehicle or a vehicle equipped with a driver assist system. That is, in this context, an at least partially automated system includes a mobile platform with respect to the at least partially automated functionality, but the mobile platform also includes a vehicle or other mobile machine that includes a driver assist system. Further examples of a mobile platform may be a driver assist system with multiple sensors, for example a mobile multi-sensor robot such as a robotic vacuum cleaner or lawn mower, a multi-sensor surveillance system, a manufacturing machine, a personal assistant, or an access control system. Any of these systems may be fully or partially automated systems.

[0036] A mobile platform and, in particular, an at least partially automated vehicle having the above-mentioned system is proposed, which is advantageous since it allows realizing all the advantages of the method for error detection in drive dynamic control.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0039] FIG. 1 is a schematic flow chart of a method for performing error detection in a drive dynamic control 1100 in a system comprising a power brake 1000 and a drive dynamic control 1100, the system being arranged to hydraulically couple the power brake 1000 to the drive dynamic control 1100. After starting the method for performing error detection S10, which may be initiated, for example, at a start pattern of a mobile platform such as a vehicle, a first control signal is generated S20 and provided to a drive dynamic control 1100 to provide a first hydraulic pressure, for example to a brake cylinder of a vehicle brake, using the drive dynamic control. When the first hydraulic pressure is generated by the drive dynamic control 1100, the second hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic connection is controlled by the power brake 1000 in such a way that the hydraulic volume in the system is kept constant S40, while the first hydraulic pressure is boosted S30 by the drive dynamic control 1100. After the time interval has expired S50, the generation of the first hydraulic pressure is terminated and the connecting valve SCC1111 or 1112 is opened in order to detect an error in the drive dynamic control by determining S80 the third hydraulic pressure of the drive dynamic control 1100 by means of the plunger pressure sensor 1065 in the hydraulic connection. In this case, when the connecting valve SCC1111 or 1112 is opened, the volume of the plunger 1060 is kept constant S70, i.e. the piston of the plunger 1060 maintains its position, thereby achieving the boosting of the third hydraulic pressure in front of the plunger 1060. If the third hydraulic pressure exceeds a predetermined minimum value, one can proceed from the assumption that the drive dynamic control 1100 is now operational, so that emergency function of the drive dynamic control 1100 is guaranteed in the event of a power brake 1000 failure.

[0040] 2 is a schematic diagram of a system consisting of a power brake 1000 and a drive dynamic control 1100, together with the valve positions for boosting the first hydraulic pressure, which is installed to hydraulically connect the power brake 1000 to the drive dynamic control 1100 by means of the first and second connecting valves PSV1 1021 and PSV2 1022 of the power brake and the first and second connecting valves SCC1111 and 1112 of the drive dynamic control, thus forming a hydraulic connection, whereby both the power brake 1000 and the drive dynamic control 1100 are designed as a two-circuit. The master cylinder 1050 can be manually operated by a pedal mechanically connected to it in order to obtain an emergency braking action by applying hydraulic pressure to the brake cylinders 1101, 1102 or 1103 and 1104 by means of a first or second circuit isolation valve CSV1 1011 or CSV2 1012, respectively, via a circuit associated with the drive dynamic control 1100. In this case, the brake master cylinder 1050 is hydraulically connected to the reservoir 1030 for hydraulic fluid by means of two leakage holes. For boosting in normal operation, the plunger 1060 can generate a braking action in the brake cylinders 1101, 1102 or 1103 and 1104, which displaces a hydraulic volume into the two circuits of the drive dynamic control 1100 via the power brake connecting valve PSV1 1021 or PSV2 1022. The plunger 1060 can be hydraulically connected to the hydraulic reservoir RSV1,2 1030 via the valve POV1061. The plunger 1060 is connected to an electric motor so that it can release or receive a hydraulic volume by means of a piston. The electric motor can be controlled by a control unit which is connected to a sensor device RPS1062 for determining the motor position. The pressure in the master cylinder 1050 can be determined by means of a master cylinder pressure sensor 1053. The master cylinder 1050, designed with two circuits, can be hydraulically connected to a brake simulator PFS 1052 via a valve SSV 1051 in order to simulate a hydraulic boost to the driver actuating the brake pedal, whereby a hydraulic volume in normal operation is provided by a plunger 1060 to a drive dynamic control 1100, which generates a braking action on the brake cylinders 1101, 1102 or 1103 and 1104 which are hydraulically connected to the drive dynamic control 1100. The mechanical position of the brake pedal can be determined by a distance sensor s / U which is mechanically connected to the brake pedal in order to control the plunger 1060 inter alia as a function of the mechanical position of the brake pedal. The second hydraulic pressure generated by the plunger 1060 may be determined by a plunger pressure sensor 1065. A first check valve BSV1 1041 or BSV2 1042 may be used to sequentially supply hydraulic fluid from the power brake 1000 and the drive dynamic control 1100 to the hydraulic system.

[0041] Both circuits of the drive dynamic control 1100 are fully compatible, so that a description of one circuit is sufficient. At least one of the two circuits of the drive dynamic control 1100 can use a pressure sensor 1190 to determine the pressure at the hydraulic connection. The power brake 1000 is hydraulically connected to the drive dynamic control connection valve SCC 1111 or 1112 by a power brake connection valve PSV1 1021 or PSV2 1022, thus forming a hydraulic connection between the power brake 1000 and the drive dynamic control 1100.

[0042] The valves of the system of Figure 2 are arranged to boost a first dynamic pressure by a drive dynamic control 1100, which is then arranged to supply the first dynamic pressure to the drive dynamic control 1100 by a respective pump 1131 or 1132.

[0043] When a first signal for increasing the first dynamic pressure is provided to the drive dynamic control 1100, for example by control of the power brake 1000, for example at the start of the method for error detection, the drive dynamic control 1100 begins generating the first dynamic pressure within the drive dynamic control 1100. The hydraulic volume required for this is provided by the power brake 1000 in hydraulic connection to the drive dynamics control 1100 .

[0044] To provide a hydraulic volume to the hydraulic connection, a second hydraulic pressure is generated by the power brake 1000 via a plunger 1060, controlled by a plunger pressure sensor 1065, and provided by the power brake 1000 to a hydraulic connection of the drive dynamic control 1100, thereby enabling the drive dynamic control 1100 to boost the first hydraulic pressure with the provided hydraulic volume.

[0045] For this purpose, the respective pump 1131 or 1132 of the drive dynamic control is hydraulically connected to the hydraulic connection by closing the respective connection valve SCC 1111 or 1112 of the drive dynamic control and opening the high pressure valve HSR 1121 or 1122. The second hydraulic pressure generated by the plunger 1060 is then used to provide the required hydraulic volume by the drive dynamic control 1100 for boosting the first dynamic pressure without the required hydraulic volume being drawn from the reservoir 1030, since the second dynamic pressure prevents the respective check valve BSV1 1041 or BSV2 1042 from opening. The first hydraulic pressure of the drive dynamic control 1100 thus generated is supplied to the brake cylinders 1101, 1102 or 1103, 1104 via the respective open valves ICF 1141, 1171 or 1142, 1172 to obtain a braking action.

[0046] 3 is a schematic diagram of the valve positions of the system consisting of the power brake 1000 and the drive dynamic control 1100 for determining the third hydraulic pressure. To this end, the high pressure valve HSR 1121 or 1122 of the drive dynamic control is closed and the respective connecting valve SCC 1111 or 1112 of the drive dynamic control is opened, so that the third hydraulic pressure can be determined by the plunger pressure sensor 1065 using the open connecting valve PSV1 1021 or PSV2 1022 of the power brake. The volume of the plunger 1060 is then held constant by fixing the position of the piston of the plunger, thereby increasing the third hydraulic pressure. One can start from the premise that if this third hydraulic pressure is greater than a predetermined value, then the drive dynamics control 1100 is healthy and capable of providing emergency functionality.

[0047] FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating the valve positions of the system consisting of the power brake 1000 and the drive dynamic control 1100 to detect the functionality of only one of the two circuits of the drive dynamic control 1100, so that the power brake connecting valve PSV2 1022 remains closed after the third hydraulic boost, and only the corresponding other circuit with the power brake connecting valve PSV1 1021 open can be detected in order to detect an error in this circuit which is hydraulically coupled to the plunger pressure sensor 1065.

[0048] Figure 5 illustrates the valve positions of the system consisting of the power brake 1000 and the drive dynamic control 1100 for detecting the functionality of the second circuit not detected by the method according to the description of Figure 4. For this purpose, the connecting valve PSV2 1022 of the power brake is opened according to the method described with reference to Figure 4. Moreover, it can be assumed that the second circuit of the drive dynamic control 1100 is also operable if it is determined that the third hydraulic pressure determined by the plunger pressure sensor 1065 is a pressure greater than a predetermined value, since if there is a defect in the second circuit, the third pressure boosted by the first circuit will be reduced.

[0049] Fig. 6 illustrates alternative valve positions of the system consisting of the power brake 1000 and the drive dynamic control 1100 for detecting the functionality of a second circuit, which is hydraulically arranged so that, after boosting the pressure in the first circuit and detecting an error as described in relation to Fig. 4, a third hydraulic pressure in the second circuit is determined by means of a connection pressure sensor 1165, which determines the pressure at the hydraulic connection of the second circuit of the drive dynamic control 1100. If the value determined by the connection pressure sensor 1165 is greater than a predetermined value, then again one can start from the premise that the second circuit of the drive dynamic control 1100 is operable, or if the value determined by the connection pressure sensor 1165 is less than a predetermined value, an error is detected.

[0050] In other words, the error detection can also be performed circuit by circuit by opening the coupling valves SCC 1111 or 1112 of the drive dynamic control separately or by closing one coupling valve PSV1 1021 or PSV2 1022 of the power brake. For this, first one circuit is coupled to the plunger pressure sensor 1065 and in the second circuit the coupling valve is switched so that the coupling to said pressure sensor is not open. At this point, the pressure in the first circuit can be evaluated. There are two different possibilities for the evaluation in the second circuit. In a next step, either the second circuit is also coupled to the plunger pressure sensor 1065 and thus a third hydraulic pressure generated in the second circuit by the drive dynamic control 1100 is evaluated or the third hydraulic pressure in the second circuit is evaluated by the coupling pressure sensor 1190 with or without a coupling to the plunger pressure sensor 1065. The test then ends with the power brake 1000 again being controlled to a passive or stationary state. The pressure in the brake cylinders 1101, 1102 or 1103 and 1104 can be received again from the brake cylinders by the drive dynamic control 1100 using exhaust valves 1151, 1161 or 1152, 1162, in particular via accumulators 1183 and 1184 and via check valves 1181, 1182, and / or can be pumped again into the high-pressure circuit of the drive dynamic control 1100 via high-pressure pumps 1131 or 1132.
