AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing protectors for wiring materials fail to prevent erroneous assembly when the cover portion and case body are displaced in the width direction, leading to potential deformation or misfitting issues.

Method used

The protector features a case body with protrusions on the sidewalls and a cover portion with engaged grooves on the inner walls, which engage when the assembly is misaligned, preventing complete assembly and indicating incorrect positioning.

Benefits of technology

This design effectively prevents erroneous assembly by ensuring that the cover portion stops in a diagonal tilted state when misaligned, allowing operators to easily identify and correct the assembly error.

Abstract

To provide a protector which can prevent erroneous assembly in such a state that a cover part and a case body are displaced in a width direction.SOLUTION: A protector comprises: a case body 2 which defines a lower end of a storage part A by a bottom part 22 and defines left and right ends of the storage part A by a pair of side wall parts 21a, 21b; and a cover part 3 which defines an upper end of the storage part A. The cover part 3 comprises: a closing part 31 which closes the upper side of the storage part A; and a pair of inner wall parts 32a, 32b which are erected on the left and right sides across the closing part 31 and enter the storage part A in such a state that the cover part 3 is assembled to the case body 2. Protrusion parts 23 that protrude upward are respectively formed at the ends on the outer side of the upper surfaces of the pair of side wall parts 21a, 21b. Engagement object grooves 36 which are engaged with the protrusion parts 23 are formed on downward-facing contact surfaces formed on the inner surfaces of the pair of inner wall parts 32a, 32b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
