Abstract

Described herein is a detection system (1) for track infrastructure (C, P, L, ST, B, BL) of a railway track, comprising at least one electromagnetic wave detection device (2, 2A, 2B) having at least one transmitting and receiving antenna, configured to emit electromagnetic waves toward the track infrastructure (C, P, L, ST, B, BL) by the at least one transmitting and receiving antenna and to receive the electromagnetic waves reflected by the track infrastructure (C, P, L, ST, B, BL), and a control unit configured to process the electromagnetic waves reflected by the track infrastructure (C, P, L, ST, B, BL) to determine the position of the track infrastructure (C, P, L, ST, B, BL) relative to a preset reference system. The at least one electromagnetic wave detection device (2, 2A, 2B) is configured for on-board installation on a railway vehicle (V).
