Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a coacervate amount regulator, a fragrance sustaining agent, a fragrance for a hair cleansing agent, and a hair cleansing agent. [Background technology]

[0002] Anionic surfactants, which are inexpensive and have excellent foaming and cleaning power, are widely used in shampoos. However, when anionic surfactants are used, the oils in the hair and the sebum in the scalp are washed away excessively, causing the hair to become dry and difficult to comb, resulting in poor feel and finish of the hair during and after washing. Therefore, in order to improve the finger-combing properties and the slipperiness of the foam when washing hair, silicones are blended into shampoos.

[0003] However, in recent years, due to the growing demand for silicone-free shampoos, a technology called coacervation has been attracting attention, which can provide the same feel as when silicone is added, such as the ease of running your fingers through your hair when washing and the smoothness of the foam, without adding silicone.

[0004] In coacervation, an insoluble complex (coacervate) is generally formed during the process of rinsing hair with water after washing with an anionic surfactant and a cationic polymer contained in shampoo. The insoluble complex is adsorbed to the hair surface, reducing friction on the hair surface during washing and rinsing, making it possible to run fingers through the hair smoothly.

[0005] In order to adjust coacervation, the following techniques have been developed: a technique that uses a specific cationic polymer (Patent Document 1); a technique that uses a neutral salt of a specific acylamino acid-based anionic surfactant and a specific alkanolamine in combination with a cationic polymer (Patent Document 2); a technique that combines a cationic polymer, an associative thickener, and a polyol in a specific ratio (Patent Document 3); and a technique that uses additives such as alkylene oxide derivatives (Patent Document 4). In addition, as technologies for controlled release of fragrance components when a detergent is used, there are known a technology that utilizes core-shell microcapsules (Patent Document 5), a technology that uses ringing gel (Patent Document 6), a technology that uses organopolysiloxane (Patent Document 7), and a technology that utilizes latex particles of a polymer material having a particle size of less than about 1 μm (Patent Document 8).

[0006] However, these require special compositions (surfactants, cationic polymers, thickeners, and new additives) and special pretreatments such as microencapsulation, and are not necessarily simple technologies.

[0007] On the other hand, it is known that certain fragrances tend to increase the amount of coacervate produced, and that the fragrance in a hair cleanser tends to be incorporated into the coacervate, increasing the amount of fragrance adhering to the hair along with the coacervate (Non-Patent Document 1). [0009] [Non-Patent Document 1] J. Soc. Cosmet Chem. Jpn. 51(4), 311-316, 2017 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0010] However, in recent years, the demand for fragrances has become more diverse, and there is a demand for fragrances that have the ability to adjust the amount of coacervate or the ability to control the aroma, such as by improving the persistence of the fragrance, and for hair cleansing agents that use such fragrances and have an excellent feel when used.

[0011] The object of the present invention is to solve the problems associated with the above-mentioned conventional techniques, and specifically to provide a coacervate amount regulator that can effectively promote coacervation simply by adding it to a hair cleanser; an aroma sustainer and fragrance for hair cleansers that can effectively promote coacervation and sustain the aroma in the treated object; and a hair cleansing agent that not only sustains the aroma of the fragrance contained therein, but also improves the condition of washed hair, specifically, by providing excellent effects such as improved finger-combing, reduced squeaking, improved smoothness, and improved moist feeling, thereby improving the feel when used.

[0012] Another object of the present invention is to provide an effective method for adjusting the amount of coacervate produced during hair washing, a method for sustaining the fragrance of hair after washing, and a method for improving one or more properties selected from the ease of combing hair with fingers, squeaking, smoothness, and moist feeling. [0074] As used herein, the term "coacervate" refers to a water-insoluble complex formed between a surfactant and a polymer. The complex may be soluble or insoluble in the undiluted composition. As used herein, the term "adjusting the amount of coacervate" refers to the increase or decrease in the amount of insoluble matter that becomes less soluble when the complex is diluted, causing turbidity.

[0075] As shown in Table 2 in the Examples below, unlike Non-Patent Document 1, the LogKow value of a specific compound does not correlate with the amount of coacervate produced when the specific compound is used, and the fact that the specific compound has an excellent effect as a coacervate production regulator was not anticipated by those skilled in the art. The LogKow value is the common logarithm of the partition coefficient between 1-octanol / water, and is an index of the hydrophobicity of an organic compound. The higher the positive value, the higher the hydrophobicity. The LogKow value of the test substance can be calculated by the "fragment constant" method, which divides the structure into fragments (atoms / functional groups), sums up the values of each atomic group (in some cases, a structural correction factor is used) to obtain an estimated value. In the present invention, the LogKow value calculated by EPI suite, which is one of the physical property estimation software for chemical substances available from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), was used.

[0076] As used herein, the term "persistent fragrance" refers to the fragrance being sustained in a treated object (e.g., hair after washing) treated with the agent of the present invention or a composition containing the same. An example of the manner in which the fragrance is sustained is an embodiment in which the fragrance is sustained by increasing the fragrance intensity. All of the 26 specific compounds related to the agent of the present invention can be used as fragrances or their raw materials (collectively sometimes referred to as "fragrance raw materials" in this specification), and the fragrance referred to here may be a fragrance derived from a specific compound, or may be derived from a fragrance other than a specific compound. The persistence of the fragrance may be accompanied by, for example, an increase in the amount of fragrance remaining in the treated object.

[0077] The agent of the present invention is preferably used in a personal care composition of the type in which the undiluted solution is applied to a treatment target so that coacervate is generated and then washed off with water, and is preferably used, for example, in hair cleansing agents such as shampoos, hair cosmetics other than hair cleansing agents such as rinses and treatments, and skin cleansing agents. By using the agent of the present invention in such compositions, the coacervate generation promoting effect of the agent of the present invention is exhibited. Among them, hair cleansing agents or other hair cosmetics are preferred in that the effects of improving finger-combing of hair, reducing squeaking, improving smoothness, or improving moisturizing effect due to coacervate can be obtained, and hair cleansing agents are particularly preferred in that these effects are excellent.

[0078] As shown in the examples described below, when the agent of the present invention is added to a cleaning agent such as a hair cleanser or a cosmetic, the amount of coacervate produced can be increased, and the intensity of the fragrance can be increased and the fragrance can be made to last longer.

[0079] For example, the agent of the present invention may be advertised, publicized, promoted, or sold using phrases such as "adjusts the amount of coacervate," "forms coacervate," "sustains the fragrance," "remains easily in hair," "has a long-lasting fragrance," "adheres to hair in large amounts when used as a cleanser," and the like, and advertising, publicity, promotion, or sale using such phrases can be considered as implementing the agent of the present invention.

The ease of combing hair, squeaky, smoothness, and moisturizing feeling can be evaluated, for example, by touching the hair immediately after rinsing. EXAMPLES

[0095] The present invention will be described below based on examples, but the present invention is not limited to the following examples. [1] Measurement of the amount of coacervate produced When shampoo was diluted, shampoos with high light transmittance produced a low amount of coacervate, while shampoos with low light transmittance produced a high amount of coacervate. A correlation was found between the inverse of the light transmittance of the diluted solution and the amount of coacervate produced. Therefore, the amount of coacervate produced was measured as light transmittance.

[0096] A shampoo was prepared according to the formula shown in Table 1 below. NaCl and guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride were mixed with ion-exchanged water, heated to 80°C, and stirred. Polyoxyethylene lauryl ether sodium sulfate and coconut oil fatty acid amidopropyl betaine solution were then mixed in sequence. Finally, the mixture was allowed to stand at room temperature, and the specific compound was added little by little and stirred to prepare a hair shampoo. 2.1 g of the obtained shampoo was diluted with 4.9 g of ion-exchanged water (shampoo concentration was 30% by mass) and thoroughly mixed. After mixing, only the lower coacervate layer was taken out and the light transmittance at a wavelength of 550 nm was measured using a spectrophotometer (Shimadzu UV-VIS SPECTROPHOTOMETER). Using this method, the light transmittance of a shampoo containing a fragrance raw material (specific compound) and a shampoo containing ion-exchanged water instead of the fragrance raw material (fragrance-free shampoo) were measured, and the coacervate formation rate due to the addition of fragrance was calculated using the following formula.

[0097] Coacervate formation rate (%) = 100 x [Light transmittance of unscented shampoo] ÷ [Light transmittance of shampoo containing fragrance ingredients] According to the above measurements, a production rate of 300% means that the amount of coacervate in a shampoo using a particular fragrance raw material has increased three-fold.

[0098] [Table 1]

[0099] Using the above method, the coacervate formation rate (%) of 200 types of fragrance raw materials was measured. The formation rates of 26 types of fragrance raw materials with particularly high coacervate formation rates are shown in Table 2 below. Table 2 also shows the Log Kow of each compound.

[0100] [Table 2]

[0101] We investigated the correlation between the LogKow value, molecular weight, vapor pressure, and type of functional group specific to each of these fragrance raw materials and the coacervate formation rate (%), but found no correlation. In other words, these 26 fragrance raw materials were discovered for the first time as a result of extensive testing in which they were mixed into shampoo and the amount of coacervate was measured.

[0102] Next, 26 types of fragrance raw materials in Table 2 having a high coacervate formation rate were used to prepare fragrance flavors (Example 1 has a fruity green scent, and Example 2 has a floral marine scent) according to the formulation in Table 3 below.

[0103] [Table 3]

[0104] Shampoos were prepared by blending the fragrance flavors of Examples 1 and 2 at a concentration of 1% by mass with the shampoo composition shown in Table 1. The coacervate formation rate (%) of unscented shampoo using ion-exchanged water instead of the fragrance flavor was measured in the same manner as described above (measurement of the amount of coacervate formed). The results are shown in Table 4. As a result, it was confirmed that by blending 1 mass % of either of the fragrance flavorings of Examples 1 and 2, the amount of coacervate formed increased by about 2 times.

[0105] [Table 4]

[0106] [2] Finger slipperiness Next, shampoos 1 and 2 were prepared according to the formulations shown in Table 5 below, and the finger smoothness during hair washing was evaluated using the fragrance flavors of Examples 1 and 2. Shampoo 2 was prepared without blending a cationic polymer in order to prevent coacervation.

[0107] [Table 5]

[0108] The finger slipperiness during hair washing was evaluated by sensory evaluation according to the following method.

[0109] (Sensory evaluation test of hair smoothness when using shampoo) A bundle of black human hair measuring 5 cm wide x 20 cm long was combed with a comb to avoid tangling, and then the black human hair was immersed in a diluted shampoo solution (shampoo concentration 30% by mass) prepared by diluting 9 g of the above shampoo with 21 g of ion-exchanged water for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, the black human hair was removed, immersed in 500 ml of warm water at 40°C, and shaken up and down 5 times to rinse out the shampoo. After shaking 5 times, the black human hair was removed and rinsed with fresh warm water. This was repeated 4 times, and finally the moisture of the black human hair was absorbed with a paper towel, and the black human hair was evaluated for finger-combability, squeakiness, smoothness, and moisturizing.

[0110] (Evaluation score) Black human hair was washed and evaluated for ease of running fingers through the hair after rinsing, relief from squeakyness, smoothness, and moisturized feel, and the overall smoothness was evaluated using the following scores. The evaluation was carried out by a panel of 11 people (11 women, average age 43), and the average scores are shown in Table 6.

[0111] (Slipperiness evaluation score) 3 points: High slipperiness 2 points: Slippery. 1 point: Slightly slippery. 0: Almost no slipperiness.

[0112] [Table 6]

[0113] It was confirmed that the fragrance flavors of Examples 1 and 2 promoted coacervation, thereby improving the slipperiness after rinsing and reducing squeaking.

[0114] [3] Evaluation of fragrance durability The duration of the hair fragrance was evaluated by sensory evaluation, including evaluation of fragrance intensity, according to the following method.

[0115] (Sensory evaluation test of hair scent when using shampoo) A bundle of black human hair measuring 5 cm wide x 20 cm long was combed with a comb to avoid tangling, and then the black human hair was immersed in a diluted shampoo solution (shampoo concentration 30% by mass) prepared by diluting 9 g of the above shampoo with 21 g of ion-exchanged water for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, the black human hair was removed, immersed in 500 ml of warm water at 40°C, and shaken up and down 5 times to rinse the shampoo out. After shaking 5 times, the black human hair was removed and rinsed with fresh warm water. This was repeated 4 times, and finally the moisture of the black human hair was absorbed with a paper towel, and the fragrance intensity of the black human hair was evaluated after drying naturally.

[0116] The fragrance intensity was evaluated by 11 panelists (11 women, average age 43) according to the following criteria. The average score was converted into a score as fragrance intensity. The results are shown in Table 7.

[0117] (Evaluation score) 3 points: Strong scent. 2 points: Scented. 1 point: Slightly scented. 0: Almost no scent.

[0118] [Table 7]

[0119] It was found that both the fragrance flavorings of Examples 1 and 2 promoted coacervation, thereby improving the adhesion of the scent to the hair after rinsing and giving off a strong scent. After drying, the black human hair was hung in an odorless room for two hours and then subjected to a sensory evaluation again. It was found that Shampoo 1 had a stronger scent in both cases, and that coacervation improves the persistence of the scent.

[0120] [4] Fragrance content and coacervation rate Six levels of shampoo were prepared by adjusting the blending amount of the fragrance flavoring of Example 1 to 0.1 mass%, 0.25 mass%, 0.5 mass%, 0.75 mass%, 0.9 mass%, and 1.0 mass% in the formula of Shampoo 1, and the coacervate formation rate (%) was measured in the same manner as above. The results are shown in Figure 1.

[0121] As can be seen from Figure 1, by blending the fragrance of the present invention in a shampoo at 0.1 mass% or more, coacervation by the fragrance was promoted and the coacervate formation rate increased. Furthermore, it was revealed that the coacervate formation rate was saturated when the fragrance was blended at 0.25 mass%. Coacervation is affected by the amount of anionic surfactant / cationic polymer and the degree of cationization of the cationic polymer, but it was confirmed that adding an excessive amount of fragrance does not affect coacervation. Therefore, it was found that there is a preferred concentration of fragrance in shampoo for improving the feel when washing hair and increasing the persistence of the fragrance through the adhesion of the fragrance by promoting coacervation during washing.
