Energy Storage System
By using a storage battery unit composed of multiple modules in the storage battery system and setting up a bypass and a balance circuit, the problems of increasing the number of bypass mechanisms and insufficient available capacity in the storage battery system due to the increase in the number of connections are solved, and more efficient battery capacity utilization and degradation state balance control are achieved.

Abstract
To suppress increase in the number of a bypass mechanism accompanying increase in the number of connections of a storage battery module to increase a usable battery capacity of a string so as to match increase in the number of connections of the storage battery module.SOLUTION: A power storage system 1 includes a plurality of storage battery module units MU1 to MUn connected in series, and a plurality of bypass circuits B that are provided for each of the storage battery module units MU1 to MUn for switching the storage battery module units MU1 to MUn between a bypass state and a connected state. The storage battery module units MU1 to MUn include a plurality of storage battery modules M1 to Mm connected in series. The storage battery modules M1 to Mm include a plurality of storage battery cells connected in series, a plurality of inter-cell balancing units CB provided for each of the storage battery modules M1 to Mm, and a plurality of inter-module balancing units MB provided for each of the storage battery module units MU1 to MUn.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
