Abstract

To provide an image generation device, etc. that generate a reduced-color image using representative colors calculated by classifying pixels in an image into achromatic pixels and chromatic pixels.SOLUTION: An image generation device includes a classification unit that classifies each pixel included in an image into either an achromatic region or a chromatic region within a color space, a calculation unit that calculates a first predetermined number of representative colors from the pixels classified into the achromatic region, and calculates a second predetermined number of representative colors from the pixels classified into the chromatic region, and a generation unit that replaces each of the pixels included in the image with a pixel of a representative color having a minimum pixel value difference out of the first predetermined number of the representative colors and the second predetermined number of the representative colors to generate a reduced-color image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
