Abstract

The present invention describes an example system for detecting, identifying, and managing ambient repellent sounds. The system includes an earpiece device having a microphone configured to capture and sample ambient sounds around a user into small segments of the ambient sound, a speaker, and an adjuster to adjust the ambient sound segments transmitted to the speaker. The system further includes a processing unit to identify repellent ambient sound signals in the captured sound segments and to provide recommended actions to manage the repellent sound signals by removing, suppressing, attenuating, or masking the repellent signals.
