Abstract
A system for applying a material includes a die for extruding material along a primary application direction through an opening in the die, the die including a cavity fluidly connected to the opening, and a flow guide extending through the cavity toward the opening to form a flow of material extruded through the opening and flowing through a side of the flow guide within the cavity, the side of the flow guide including a diverging side portion, the width of the diverging side portion increasing toward the opening along the primary application direction.
