Abstract
To improve the theft resistance of a vehicle door lock device by preventing the upper part of a housing from being easily destroyed by an unauthorized tool.SOLUTION: A vehicle door lock device includes an engagement unit 2 having an engagement mechanism that holds a door in its closed position by engaging a striker on the vehicle body side, a housing 7 that houses a locking mechanism 8 that can switch between an unlocked state in which the engagement mechanism and the striker can be disengaged and a locked state in which the engagement state can be disabled, and a metal burglar-proof cover 11 that covers the upper surface of the housing 7. The burglar-proof cover 11 has a burglar-proof upper covering portion 111 with inclined surfaces 111a-111e that slope downward from the rear end of the door to the front end and from the top end to the outside of the vehicle and that does not have a horizontal flat surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
