AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing building panels with integrally connected cover caps create steps at overlapping portions, leading to difficulty in installation and a risk of insulation cracking, making it hard to join panels in the longitudinal direction and compromising thermal insulation, airtightness, and watertightness.

Method used

A metal fitting with joints on both widthwise edges and a core material, using cover caps to conceal the joints, and a connecting structure that aligns upright pieces of adjacent panels with retaining clips for easy installation and secure attachment, ensuring thermal insulation, airtightness, and watertightness.

Benefits of technology

Facilitates easy on-site installation by aligning panels with metal fittings, maintaining thermal insulation, airtightness, and watertightness, while preventing rainwater ingress and enhancing adhesive strength between components.

Abstract

To provide a joining metal fitting for building material panels and a connection structure for building material panels using the joining metal fitting, allowing its installation to be easily carried out at a site.SOLUTION: A building material panel comprises a metal outer skin material provided with a joint on each of both edges in its width direction, and a core material fixed on the rear surface of the outer skin material. Another building material panel is adjacently arranged at each of both edges in the width direction of the outer skin material, an adjacent joint of the building material panel is made to face the joint, and the joints engage with each other via a cover cap with the joints covered and hidden, to construct a building structure. The joint has a rising piece at an outer edge. A joining metal fitting for the building material panel has a hat-shaped cross section, and comprises: a main body composed of a top plate portion and vertical wall portions bent at both ends of the top plate portion and connected at one end; and a tongue piece having one end connected in a cantilevered manner to the other end of the vertical wall portion and having a rising wing portion erected at the other end. An opening at a bottom end of opposing vertical wall portions is narrower than a width of the top plate portion, and the tongue piece has a guide hole for fixing the building material panel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
