AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional three-dimensional printing devices complicate the removal of printed objects from modeling tanks and require complex methods to accurately place support materials, leading to misalignment and inadequate support.

Method used

A three-dimensional printing apparatus equipped with a projector that projects an image of the printed object or its data onto the modeling tank, allowing visual confirmation of the printing position and enabling easy removal of objects and precise placement of support materials using simple image projection techniques.

Benefits of technology

Enables easy and damage-free removal of printed objects and accurate placement of support materials by visually confirming the printing position through image projection, simplifying the operation and improving the printing process.

Abstract

To enable an operator to easily take out a three-dimensional modeled object from an inside of a modeling tank, or to enable the operator to acquire a modeling position where a three-dimensional modeled object is planned to be modeled, by employing a method simpler than a conventional technique.SOLUTION: A three-dimensional modeling apparatus for depositing hardened layers of a powder material in a modeling tank to model a three-dimensional modeled object, is provided with a projector for projecting an image composed of light that does not contribute to formation of the hardened layers. The projector projects an image obtained by creating a shadow from three-dimensional data of a modeled object in a deposition direction of the hardened layers, from above the modeling tank to the modeling tank.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
