Abstract

To provide a method for producing an aluminum alloy ingot for a magnetic disk with excellent recyclability, a method for producing an aluminum alloy plate for a magnetic disk using the aluminum alloy ingot, a method for producing an aluminum alloy substrate for a magnetic disk using the aluminum alloy ingot, and a magnetic disk using the aluminum alloy substrate produced using the aluminum alloy substrate.SOLUTION: A method for producing an aluminum alloy ingot for a magnetic disk includes: a molten metal adjustment process in which at least one of an intermediate material and a finished product is used for at least a part of a raw material as a recycled material, the intermediate material being obtained in producing a magnetic disk, and a molten metal of an aluminum alloy containing the raw material is adjusted; a molten metal heating and holding process in which the adjusted molten metal is heated and held; and a casting process in which the heated and held molten metal is casted. In the molten metal heating and holding process, the molten metal is heated and held at 700 to 850°C for 3 hours or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
