Abstract

We evaluate twisting due to springback in press-formed thin metal sheets and manufacture press-formed products with reduced twisting. [Solution] The method for evaluating the torsion of a press-formed product according to the present invention evaluates the torsion due to springback of a press-formed product 10, and involves setting a plurality of vertical cross sections at intervals of 1 mm or more along the longitudinal direction of the press-formed product 10 before springback (S1), selecting one of the set cross sections as the evaluation cross section and the other cross sections as the acting cross sections, obtaining the stress and stress acting position of each acting cross section, calculating the moment acting from each acting cross section in the direction of twisting the evaluation cross section (S3), adding up the moments calculated for each acting cross section to calculate a torsion moment evaluation index for the evaluation cross section (S5), determining the torsion moment evaluation index using all or part of the plurality of cross sections as the evaluation cross sections, and evaluating the torsion of the press-formed product due to springback (S7).
