AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing curcumin formulations lack industrial scalability, stability, and bioavailability, necessitating a composition that is efficient, stable, and rapidly absorbable.

Method used

A powdery composition of amorphous curcumins and hydrophilically modified starch is produced by heating, melting, and wet-grinding, followed by powdering, maintaining the amorphous form and enhancing stability and absorbability.

Benefits of technology

The composition maintains amorphous curcumins during long-term storage, achieves rapid blood concentration, and improves bioavailability, with a simple and cost-effective production method.

Abstract

Provided are: a novel amorphous curcumin compound powdery composition which is inexpensive, is improved in the bioabsorbability and bioavailability of curcumin, and has long-term stability; and a method for producing the powdery composition. The present invention relates to: a powdery composition which comprises an amorphous curcumin compound and a hydrophilic modified starch and has a Raman spectrum including one or more peaks at wavenumbers (expressed in ± 2 cm-1) of 1630, 1599, 1428 and 1243; and a method for producing the powdery composition.
