AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing methods for determining the compaction state of concrete are inadequate as they fail to account for variations in concrete mix conditions, temperature, working environment, and vibrator performance, leading to inconsistent compaction results.
Method used
A determination device that captures concrete surface images and measures vibrator vibrations, using multiple indices such as average brightness and edge pixel count, along with vibration frequency, to determine the compaction state in real time.
Benefits of technology
Enables accurate determination of compaction completion time regardless of concrete type, temperature, and environmental conditions, ensuring consistent concrete quality.

Abstract
To appropriately determine a completion timing of compaction regardless of a concrete blending condition, a concrete temperature, a working environment and vibrator performance.SOLUTION: A determination device (10) determines a compaction state of concrete when concrete (C) after placed is compacted by a vibrator (5). The determination device includes: an imaging part (11) for imaging a surface image of the concrete; a measurement part (12) for measuring vibration of the vibrator; and a control part (13) connected to the imaging part and the measurement part. The control part determines a compaction state on the basis of the surface image and a vibration measurement value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
