AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing silicone-free and non-chemical sunscreen cosmetics face challenges in achieving high powder dispersibility, stable appearance, and sufficient UV protection with excellent water resistance without incorporating silicone compounds or UV absorbers.

Method used

Incorporation of a surfactant, dispersant, and organically modified clay mineral to disperse UV scattering agents effectively, resulting in a water-in-oil emulsion sunscreen cosmetic that achieves high UV protection and stability without silicone or UV absorbers.

Benefits of technology

The cosmetic exhibits excellent dispersibility and stability, maintaining high UV protection even when exposed to water, with a clear appearance and without the use of silicone or UV absorbers.

Abstract

To provide a water-in-oil type emulsified sunscreen cosmetic containing neither a silicone compound nor an ultraviolet absorber which is silicone free and non-chemical, is excellent in dispersibility of a powder such as an ultraviolet scattering agent, has stable and clear appearance and has a sufficient high UV protection effect and excellent water-resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided a water-in-oil type emulsified sunscreen cosmetic which comprises (A) a surfactant, (B) a dispersant, (C) an oil component, (D) an organic modified clay mineral and (E) an ultraviolet scattering agent, wherein the blending amount of the ultraviolet scattering agent (E) is 10 mass% or more and the sunscreen cosmetic does not contain a silicone compound and an ultraviolet absorber.SELECTED DRAWING: None
