Abstract

Provided is a thermoelectric conversion element including a positive electrode and a negative electrode made of materials different in conductivity and capable of converting thermal energy to electric energy even in an environment having no temperature difference and comprising an organic semiconductor layer provided, between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, with a material that generates electrons and holes when thermally excited. Also provided is a thermoelectric conversion method using the thermoelectric conversion element.
