Abstract

An updating device for an external sensor according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a reception unit that receives malfunction information of an external sensor installed in a vehicle and environment information from the vehicle at a point of malfunction occurring; an updating parameter deciding unit that decides an updating parameter to use in updating a parameter of the external sensor in accordance with the malfunction information and the environment information; an updating timing adjusting unit for deciding an updating timing for updating the parameter in the vehicle in accordance with the malfunction information; and a transmission unit that transmits the updating parameter to the vehicle on the basis of the updating timing decided by the updating timing adjusting unit.
