Vehicle alarm system

Abstract

To provide an alarm device for a vehicle that can detect a person being left in a vehicle by means other than a movement of the person inside the vehicle.SOLUTION: An alarm device for a vehicle 1 used in a child transport vehicle 5 comprises: a detection sensor 7 for detecting the presence of a person in a passenger compartment 3; and an external alarm unit 8 that issues an alarm outside the passenger compartment 3 based on a signal from the detection sensor 7. Here, the detection sensor 7 is an acoustic sensor that detects sound, and when a predetermined time has elapsed after drive means of the vehicle 5 has stopped and then the detection sensor 7 detects the presence of the person in the passenger compartment 3, the external alarm unit 8 issues an alarm. As a consequence, even if the person is left in the passenger compartment 3, the detection sensor 7 reacts to crying or other sounds made by the person, thereby notifying a person outside the passenger compartment 3 of the person being left in the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
