Abstract
The present disclosure relates generally to message processing in a communication system, and more particularly to a system and method for mapping a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) response with an appropriate cause code. A BTAS receives a SIP response and determines a reason for an error in a telephone call and a cause code for the error. The BTAS maps the SIP with the appropriate cause code. The BTAS provides an appropriate reason for the telephone call failure or the telephone call error in the SIP response. The telephone call is sent to an E-SBC and routed from the E-SBC to a P-CSCF and from the P-CSCF to an S-CSCF. A query is sent from the S-CSCF to a DNC server regarding DNC registration of a B number. The DNC server replies that the B number is / is not registered for DNC. The telephone call is forwarded to the BTAS and a query is sent from the BTAS to an MNP. The BTAS routes the telephone call to the S-CSCF. A wired telephone call to a terminating BTAS, where a VoLTE telephone call to a TAS, and an off-net telephone call to a MGCF via a BGCF. An off-net telephone call is sent from the BGCF to the MGCF.
