Abstract

A technology is provided that can continuously detect location information in a mobile terminal. [Solution] A beacon transmitter comprising a communication unit that transmits a first packet including a first identifier indicating a specified area and a second identifier that identifies the device itself, and transmits a second packet including a third identifier obtained by performing a specified calculation on the first identifier and the second identifier, wherein the pair of identifiers, the third identifier and the second identifier, indicates an area different from the specified area, the communication unit continuously transmits the first packet and repeatedly transmits and stops transmitting the second packet, and the period of transmission stop is a period that exceeds a period corresponding to the time when a mobile terminal that received the first packet or the second packet receives the first packet or the second packet until an event occurs indicating that the mobile terminal has moved from within the area indicated by the first identifier of the received first packet or the pair of identifiers of the second packet to outside the area.
