Abstract

A control system for controlling vehicle travel provides a temporary stop function that can ensure drivability with a simple configuration. [Solution] A control system 1 for controlling the driving of a vehicle, comprising a control device 10 (automatic driving control unit 15) that implements an automatic driving function to automatically drive at a first vehicle speed that is set as a set speed, a switch 13A for reducing the set speed to a second vehicle speed that is slower than the first vehicle speed, and a forward detection means 12A that detects the front of the vehicle, and the control device 10 comprises a judgment unit 16 that determines whether or not it is necessary to stop temporarily based on the forward detection means 12A, a stop control unit 17 that implements a pause function to automatically stop the vehicle that is driving automatically when the judgment unit 16 determines that it is necessary to stop temporarily, and a mode setting unit 18 that enables the pause function when the set speed is reduced to the second vehicle speed by operating the switch 13A.
