Abstract

The present invention provides a protective component for optical fibers in an optical module that simplifies the assembly process and can be fixed without the use of adhesive. [Solution] An optical module comprising a device substrate, a fixing part for fixing an optical fiber connected to the device substrate at a position adjacent to the device substrate, and a protective component for fixing and protecting the optical fiber to the fixing part, wherein the protective component deforms within the fixing part to house the optical fiber and fixes it by fitting with the fixing part.
