Abstract

To provide gene activating fibrillar compositions and methods for treating clinical symptoms using a combination of gene therapy and tissue engineering in a single system.SOLUTION: The invention provides a composition comprising at least one aligned fibrillar material enabling attachment and alignment of at least one type of cells, where the fibrillar material is provided with a nucleic acid-based vector to enable more transfection to cells attached to the aligned fibrillar material as compared with the same cells attached to tissue culture plastics.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
