Abstract

To provide a steering control system capable of optimizing steering control depending on a degree of reliability concerning prediction of a movement of another vehicle.SOLUTION: A steering control system performs steering control depending on a value of an entry estimation index which is an index of certainty signifying that another vehicle traveling on an adjoining lane adjacent to an own vehicle travel lane may enter the own vehicle travel lane because of existence of an obstacle. When the entry estimation index is equal to or larger than a predetermined value P2, the steering control system implements steering control of applying a steering force to steering wheels in a direction opposite to the adjoining lane (step ST7). When the entry estimation index falls below the predetermined value P2 and is equal to or larger than a predetermined value P1, the steering control system implements reaction force control of applying a reaction force against steering by a driver (step ST10).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
