Abstract

A method is disclosed for producing TON framework type molecules with unique properties using a structure directing agent, 1,3,4-trimethylimidazolium cation, and a combined silicon and aluminum source selected from alumina-coated silica and aluminosilicate zeolites. The resulting molecular sieve can be used in the dewaxing process of paraffinic hydrocarbon feedstocks.
