Abstract

To solve the problem in which: in a configuration in which an antenna coil and a display panel are arranged overlapped with each other, a position over which an operator holds a portable terminal is the display panel, but the display panel is a portion for displaying information on image formation, such as a print condition, and thus the operator does not understand the position over which they hold the portable terminal.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has an image forming unit that executes image formation on a sheet, and executes authentication of a portable terminal through short-range radio communication with the portable terminal, and has an operation unit that receives an operation from an operator. The operation unit includes: a display panel that can display information on the image formation in response to the execution of the authentication; and an antenna electrode that is wired such that at least part thereof overlaps the display panel in a vertical direction perpendicular to the display panel, and is for executing the short-range radio communication with the portable terminal. The display panel can display a guide screen for guiding the operator to hold the portable terminal over the display panel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
