Audio help button that attaches to a white cane for the visually impaired.

Abstract

The goal is to provide a means for visually impaired individuals to call for help when they encounter dangerous or difficult situations while out and about, even if they are unable to speak. Traditionally, the "white cane SOS signal," which involves raising a white cane above the head to ask for help, has been known, but this action is often not noticed by those around and is particularly ineffective at night. [Solution] The device has a belt that can be detachably attached to a white cane, and a pressable voice button is provided on a part of the belt. When the button is pressed, a chime sound is heard and a voice message saying "I'm in trouble. Please help me." is automatically played. The belt can be fixed to the diameter of the white cane using an elastic hook-and-loop fastener, and a reflector is provided on a part of it to improve visibility at night. In addition, the main body can be removed and used as a keychain, and can be used as a rescue request device even when the white cane is not being used.
