Abstract

To provide a vehicle illumination device with a multi-tip light emitting element, configured to secure required total luminous flux even when an input voltage decreases, and a vehicle lighting device.SOLUTION: A vehicle illumination device includes: a socket; a substrate arranged at one end of the socket; a first light emitting unit arranged on the substrate and having a plurality of light-emitting chips connected in series; a second light emitting unit arranged on the substrate, connected in series with the first light emitting unit, and having second light-emitting chips smaller in number than the first light-emitting chips; and a control element arranged on the substrate, and configured to switch connection state between the first light emitting unit and the second light emitting unit in accordance with an input voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
