Abstract
To provide a gas sensor element having excellent sensor output reliability.SOLUTION: A gas sensor element 1 includes a sensor cell 10 and a signal lead section 5. The sensor cell 10 is composed of a long solid electrolyte body 2, a measurement electrode 3, and a reference electrode 4. The signal lead section is connected to the measurement electrode and extends to a base end side. In a tip area 110 of the gas sensor element, an air layer 61 is formed on a solid electrolyte side grounding surface 51 of the signal lead section 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
