Abstract

To provide a steel wire which is suitable for a steel cord and has excellent tensile strength and twisting properties, and enables suppression of occurrence of delamination when the wire is twisted.SOLUTION: A steel wire has a predetermined composition, and DSC curve which is obtained by differential scanning calorimetry and has a first peak having the maximum value falling within the range of 100°C to 200°C and a second peak having the maximum value falling within the range of 300°C the 400°C, and satisfies the following formulas (1) and (2), wherein a diameter is 0.25 mm or more and 0.35 mm or less, and tensile strength is 4100 MPa or more. A≥1.50(J / g)...formula (1) B / A≥1.00...formula (2).
