Abstract

To provide a rolling and drying method and a rolling and drying apparatus free from the need of tea stain-removing work in the rolling and drying apparatus such as a leaf beating machine and a roughly rubbing machine, facilitating adjusting tea leaves so as to be put into a desired dry state, and capable of improving also heat efficiency related to rolling and drying process of tea leaves.SOLUTION: A rolling and drying method for producing tea, to be performed between a steaming step and a rolling step includes: (i) a drying step of supplying steamed tea leaves to a net type dryer for mounting materials to be dried on a net-like belt conveyor and drying by hot wind while conveying, and drying the tea leaves while stirring the tea leaves on the belt conveyor so as to turn top-bottom; and (ii) a rubbing step of rubbing the tea leaves by supplying the tea leaves passing through the drying step (i) to a screw type rubbing machine in which a screw having a screw blade spirally disposed on an outer peripheral surface of a screw shaft is rotatably arranged in a cylindrical rubbing drum, and which rubs materials to be rubbed supplied to one end side of the rubbing drum by rotating the screw while conveying to the other end side of the rubbing drum, and rotating the screw at 2-20 rpm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
