AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing mixing and coating tools for powder mixtures are unsuitable for contamination-free operations due to wear-induced contamination, particularly in applications requiring minimal iron content, such as energy storage device manufacturing.

Method used

The tool features a disc-shaped element with groove walls and groove bottoms covered by wear elements, and vortex-inducing elements that protrude beyond the lower surface, made of wear-resistant materials like hard metal or ceramics, to minimize wear and contamination.

🎯Benefits of technology

Significantly reduces wear and contamination, enabling efficient dry mixing and coating of powder mixtures with minimal iron content, reducing dust generation and ensuring contamination-free operation.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a tool (1) for dry mixing and coating powder mixtures, comprising a fixed shaft (2) and a disk-shaped element (4) fixed thereto, the disk-shaped element having a diameter d, an upper surface, a lower surface, and an outer circumferential surface connecting the upper and lower surfaces, the disk-shaped element having a number of grooves extending parallel to the shaft axis, each groove having two groove walls extending from the outer circumferential surface to the groove bottom, with teeth formed between the two groove walls. In particular, to provide a tool suitable for dry mixing, dry dispersing, and coating of powder mixtures with little contamination, it is proposed according to the present invention that the disk-shaped element has a base part and at least one wear element (6) fixed to this base part, and at least one part of each groove wall adjacent to the outer circumferential surface is formed by the wear element.
