AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional liquid ejection heads face challenges in reducing pressure loss and miniaturization due to the configuration of common liquid chambers and ink flow paths.

Method used

The liquid discharge head is designed with a common liquid chamber positioned on one side of the nozzle row region, perpendicular to the nozzle arrangement, and individual flow paths that cross and return to nearby nozzle rows, minimizing pressure loss and allowing for miniaturization without reducing nozzle density.

🎯Benefits of technology

This configuration effectively reduces pressure loss and enables miniaturization while maintaining high nozzle density, ensuring consistent ink ejection characteristics.

Abstract

To fully meet demands for reducing the pressure loss of liquid flowing through a common liquid chamber or for downsizing.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge head comprises: at least two nozzle rows arranged with a plurality of nozzles 31A, 31B for discharging liquid; a plurality of individual liquid chambers 22A, 22B communicating with the plurality of nozzles, respectively; pressure generating means for generating pressure variation in the individual liquid chambers; and a common liquid chamber for supplying the liquid to each of the plurality of individual liquid chambers. With respect to a nozzle row region I where the at least two nozzle rows are seen when viewed from the liquid discharge direction of the nozzle, the common liquid chamber supplies the liquid to each of the plurality of individual liquid chambers communicating with a plurality of nozzles constituting each of the at least two nozzle rows from a common liquid chamber portion arranged on one side in a direction orthogonal to a nozzle arrangement direction of the nozzle rows.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
