Abstract

To inhibit insufficiency of inclination correction compared with a structure in which medium inclination correction for bringing a leading edge of a medium into abutment and positional correction of the medium in a width direction are performed sequentially.SOLUTION: A medium transport device includes: a position correction unit (Rr) which moves a medium (S) in a width direction to correct a position of the medium (S) in the width direction; a first inclination correction unit (2) which corrects an inclination of the medium (S) relative to a transport direction of the medium (S) at the upstream side of the position correction unit (Rr); and a second inclination correction unit (21) which corrects an inclination of the medium (S) relative to the transport direction of the medium (S) at the upstream side of the first inclination correction unit (2) with respect to the transport direction of the medium (S).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
