Abstract

To detect an abnormal discharge caused by streamer discharge in any of electrifiers even in a configuration that uses a common electrification voltage.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus (1) comprises: a plurality of photoreceptors (31); a plurality of electrifiers (41); a first electrification voltage application circuit (70) that applies first electrification voltage to electrification wires (42); a first electrification voltage detection circuit (78) that detects the first electrification voltage; a plurality of first grid current detection circuits (82); and a controller (61). As a normal range of the first electrification voltage, a predetermined range equal to or more than a first threshold voltage and less than a second threshold voltage is defined. The controller (61) executes constant current control, and during the execution of the constant current control, when the first electrification voltage is outside the predetermined range, executes first stop processing, and when the first electrification voltage is within the predetermined range and grid current flowing in a grid of a second electrifier different from a first electrifier is equal to or more than a threshold current, executes second stop processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
