Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a composition for suppressing body odor having good usability and particularly excellent anti-odor effect.

Means for Solving the Problems

[0006] In other words, the present invention provides a body odor suppression composition containing component (A) an aliphatic alcohol having 8 to 14 carbon atoms. [Effects of the Invention]

[0007] The body odor-suppressing composition of the present invention controls the degree of metabolism of branched fatty acids within the skin's resident bacteria, thereby achieving a particularly excellent deodorizing effect. Therefore, the body odor-suppressing composition of the present invention is particularly useful as a deodorant cosmetic with a pleasant feel. [Modes for carrying out the invention]

[0008] Component (A) of the present invention is an aliphatic alcohol having 8 to 14 carbon atoms. Specific examples of component (A) include those represented by the following general formula (1).

[0009] R 1 -CH2-OH (1)

[0010] (In the above general formula (1), R 1 (This represents a linear alkyl group with 7 to 13 carbon atoms.)

[0011] Specific examples of component (A) include one or more compounds selected from 1-octanol, 1-nonanol, 1-decanol, 1-undecanol, 1-dodecanol, 1-tridecanol, and 1-tetradecanol. From the viewpoint of further controlling the metabolism of branched fatty acids within the skin's resident bacteria and obtaining an excellent deodorizing effect, it is preferably one or more compounds selected from 1-octanol, 1-decanol, 1-dodecanol, and 1-tetradecanol, more preferably one or more compounds selected from 1-decanol and 1-dodecanol, and even more preferably 1-dodecanol.

[0028] (Evaluation of user experience) Five expert panelists will analyze each sample at a rate of 10 μL / cm³. 2 The product was applied to the skin, and the skin's feel during and after application was evaluated sensorily. Scores were calculated according to the following criteria, and the average score was used for evaluation. <Evaluation Criteria> skin feel 4: Very good 3: Good 2: Not very good 1: Bad

[0029] (Evaluation of stickiness) Five expert panelists will analyze each sample at a rate of 10 μL / cm³. 2 The product was applied to the skin, and the stickiness after application was evaluated sensorily. Scores were calculated according to the following criteria, and the average score was used for evaluation. <Evaluation Criteria> Stickiness 4: Non-sticky 3: Not very sticky 2: Slightly sticky 1: Sticky

[0030] (Evaluation of antiperspirant effect) Five expert panelists applied 1g of each sample to the armpit under conditions of 38°C and 40% RH, and evaluated the antiperspirant effect after 30 minutes. Scores were calculated according to the following criteria, and the average score was used for evaluation. <Evaluation Criteria> Antiperspirant effect 4: Very high 3: High 2: Slightly low 1: Low
