AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing delivery catheters face challenges when used with long endoscopes, as the length of the guidewire protruding from the forceps channel is insufficient for gripping, hindering the insertion of the catheter due to lack of space.

Method used

A delivery catheter design with an inner shaft and outer tube configuration, featuring an inner handle operating section with an opening at the posterior end, allowing the guidewire to exit from the distal or middle end, and a relief portion to ensure sufficient gripping space, preventing entanglement and enabling smooth operation.

Benefits of technology

Ensures sufficient gripping space for the guidewire even with long endoscopes, allowing unhindered insertion and operation of the delivery catheter, reducing the risk of entanglement and enhancing procedural efficiency.

Abstract

To secure a margin for gripping of a guide wire when a delivery catheter is inserted even in a case of a long endoscope.SOLUTION: An inner shaft 4 is movably inserted to an outer tube 5 of a delivery catheter 2 in an axial direction. The inner shaft 4 includes an inner tube 10 into which a guide wire 40 is inserted. An inside hand operation part 30 is provided at a hand side end of the inner shaft 4. A hand side end of the inner tube 10 is opened at an axial distal end 39 of the inside hand operation part 30 or an outer circumferential surface of an intermediate portion of the inside hand operation part 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
