To provide an information processing apparatus that makes it possible to use in-store apparatuses without any problem even when the communication load of a cloud server is high.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus is configured to communicate with a cloud server which manages information including transaction information, and a sales data processing apparatus in a store, the information processing apparatus including: a storage unit configured to store the information managed by the cloud server, the information being at least information on the store that the information processing apparatus belongs to; a monitoring unit which monitors communication load status in the cloud server; and a switching unit which outputs, when it is determined that the communication load of the cloud server is high, based on an output of the monitoring unit, an instruction to cause the sales data processing apparatus to communicate with the storage unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
