Abstract
To provide a novel deactivating agent and a deactivation method for more efficiently deactivating a non-aqueous secondary battery.SOLUTION: A deactivator disclosed herein is a deactivator that deactivates a nonaqueous secondary battery, and includes a redox shuttle agent that is a liquid compound whose oxidation-reduction potential, relative to the Li reference potential, is higher than that of a negative electrode active material of the nonaqueous secondary battery and lower than that of a positive electrode active material of the nonaqueous secondary battery.SELECTED DRAWING: None
